5. Oil Additives Project
Dimethyl carbonate is also widely used as additive for gasoline and diesel oil after deep processing. According to the application, it can be divided into lubricant additives, fuel additives, composite additives and so on. According to the function, it can be divided into detergent, dispersant, anti-oxidant and anti-corrosive agent, viscosity index improver, pour point depressant, anti-explosive agent, metal passivator, flow improver, anti-icing agent and so on.
Dimethyl carbonate can be used as gasoline additive instead of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE). The addition of DMC is 10%, which can be converted into 3.3% DMC. At present, the world gasoline consumption exceeds 200 million tons per year. Now our company has done a lot of work on gasoline additives. As long as the national standard is issued, the demand for dimethyl carbonate is nearly 6 million tons.
6. Solvent project
Dimethyl carbonate, as a new low toxic solvent, has been used and industrialized in the domestic market in the paint and adhesives industries. Dimethyl carbonate is widely used in nitro paint, furniture paint, automotive paint, thermoplastic acrylic paint, acrylic polyurethane paint, alkyd polyurethane paint, chlorinated rubber road marking paint and other paints. It can be used in medium and can replace the solvents such as toluene, ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, acetone or butanone currently used. The prepared paint fully meets the technical standards of existing paints. Dimethyl carbonate can also be used as a substitute for ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, acetone or butanone in adhesives industry, and has a promising application prospect. The application advantages of dimethyl carbonate in paint, coatings and adhesives industry are non-toxic, good solubility, high deesterification ability, high surface tension, low viscosity, low dielectric constant, high evaporation temperature, fast evaporation rate and so on. Many domestic paint and adhesives manufacturers have industrialized the substitution of dimethyl carbonate for solvent, such as: Hong Kong Bauhinia lacquer, Guangdong Jiaboli Chemical, Nanhai Bali Chemical, Dongming Resin and other enterprises have been used for a long time, with obvious effect and remarkable economic benefits. Dimethyl carbonate is also being used to replace traditional solvents in many famous paint and adhesives factories in the world. Dimethyl carbonate, as an environmentally friendly green solvent, will have more and more extensive market applications in the context of increasing global attention to environmental protection. At present, the domestic consumption in this industry is 50,000 tons, with an annual growth rate of about 15%.
